A little about our sponsor:

Dawn Wade is your HOMETOWN agent representing today’s RVA homeowners and future homeowners.  Dawn’s creative, enthusiastic and caring nature is perfect for matching each client’s desires as well as skillfully featuring a home’s unique presence and charactor.  She also provides renovation evaluations and pre-listing improvement advise.  This year’s recipient of the Lynn E. Rogers Award, The Golden Rule: Treat people as you want to be treated, is a treasure to her.

Dawn showcases her homes on her website as well as more than 30 other home search engines.  She utilizes a team of professional service providers such as professional photography, virtual tour providers, a marketing coach as well as a graphic designer to assist her in marketing her client’s homes.

A very active and connected community volunteer, Dawn hosts several fundraisers for her favorite non-profit organizations. Her favorite is Making Strides of Virginia which is based at the farm where Dawn’s horse, Boomer, resides. Dawn is her Kiwanis’ President elect and Secretary. Though her children are grown, Dawn volunteers at an elementary school with their student recognition program, jacket and boot drives, and Thanksgiving dinners yearly.

Making Strides of Virginia has entered into a partnership with Camp Baker of the Richmond ARC to provide services for their campers! Greater Richmond ARC’s Camp Baker is a full-service, handicap-equipped retreat located on 22 wooded acres near Pocahontas State Park in southern Chesterfield County. Camp Baker has been serving individuals with special needs since 1929 when it was a respite for undernourished children known as W.W. Baker Summer Camp. In 1957, ownership was transferred to Chesterfield County under the care of Greater Richmond ARC and renamed Camp Baker to serve children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Over the past 50 years, Camp Baker has undergone many renovations. Today it is a barrier-free, fully accessible facility providing a rewarding rustic camp experience for individuals with disabilities, as well as Respite Care, Adult Day Support and After School Services. State-of-the-art upgrades include the construction of a dining hall, an outdoor amphitheater and a 62-bed lodge to accommodate campers year-round.

For more information about Camp Baker Services (Summer Camp, Respite Care, Adult Day Support and After School Services), please call (804) 748-4789 or CampBaker@RichmondARC.org
